Next TR Driver

He wants to go for a spin. Not yet little mate, maybe next year ...

New start. New home

The Beast is now residing at her new home. Moved yesterday, two months after the rest of us. Removing the covers was worrying as I had to no idea what to expect. It looks surprisingly ok. The naff respray at osr is very naff with peeling top paint. The tyres have probably had it having not moved in four years. I need to jack it up and have a mooch underneath. And then the work begins. The garage is already smelling lovely and old car.

Happy 37th Birthday

Happy 37th birthday to the Beast! My new belle is the same age! However, the Beast is currently under covers looking sad and tired with no MOT, holes in the hood, dodgy paint repairs and a crap gearbox. And nothing can be done for the time being. Shame. Hopefully by April ...

Dead Gearbox Official

Took the car in to finally have the oil and Molyslip installed in the gearbox. Phil says the box is knackered. Drive it home, second to third assists to be better and there is no problem in fourth or fifth. In third, the axle is whining, he also reckons that that is knackered too. Third to second is still awful.

However, as it is knackered and this can't get any worse, bugger it, I'm going to try to get to the Pershore show on BH Monday...

New Carb Bar Thingy

Well, not a new bar, just the plastic end things. Cost a poxy tenner! Took some adjusting as the carbs were tuned using the old taped up knackered one.

Taped up knackered ends

Shiny and new

239 Miles

So much for Summer and the x1000 mile target. From 78722 to 78961. Hardly seems worth it sometimes.

Happy Birthday 2016

8 years today!

Burford House WR158HQ

A small very English show at Burford House with a church fete, brass band and a maypole dance!

Beautiful setting, big house, a garden nursery with large gardens to walk around, although it was difficult as it was so hot.

I now look like an enormous fat strawberry.

Chuffin Weather

As I never go out in the rain, my poor little car has barely moved this "summer". Pity, as all appears to be well. And then this:

Rock n Roll in Stourport on Severn

Very hot, very busy, slightly loud, very repetitive and lots and lots of tattoos.

Here is the Beast shining brightly ...

Happy 35th Birthday!

According to https://mot-history.net/, the Beast was first used on 22 October 1980.

Happy 35th birthday!

MOT 2015

Oh yes! That's two years in a row with no advisories either. Obviously the buggered LH suspension gaiter, hole in the floor and blown main beam dashboard bulb don't count as a failure?!

Hurrah!

1000 miles in 3 years?!

Pershore Plum Festival 2015

Via Hallow or duel carriageway?
I desperately need to change the gearbox oil before the Pershore Plum Festival show on Bank Holiday Monday.

It is a long way after all!

Engine Bay Tidy

'Tother day I decided to have a look how hard it might be to clean up my engine bay. Not easy with the engine still there, but I am going to have a go.

I started off with a rag and some water and found the original Persian Aqua colour! It looks much better clean.

But, I spy a hole in the inner fitch panel. Yikes!

Rust on a fitch panel on a TR7?

Boot Lock

I have a boot lock that was liberated afore the death of MNX500V

It has a key too, which is why I want to change the one on the Beast.

How the chuff to you get at it?

Crunchy Gearbox

Hopefully this little lot will sort out the crunchy gearbox problem ...

Driver's Window

I have eventually done it! It's been buggered since I bought it. Took nearly 2 hours as my sausages are too big and it's stupidly designed. Mr Haynes was his usual useless self.

From the finished picture, you might notice I have busted a pin off the interior light thing when reinstalling the trim. The cost these things are, it'll be like that for a while.

Here we go ...
Finished, not that you can see from this picture
